Flame Top- An innovation in ceramics technology, Emile Henry’s line of Figue Clay Flame-Top ceramics products like stewpots work directly on a gas flame or an electric or halogen hob without a diffuser, without any fear of cracking or breaking.
Much lighter, (30%), than many types of comparable metal cookware products, Flame-Top is microwave and dishwasher-safe, cleans up very easily, is extremely strong and durable, goes under the broiler, and can go directly from a freezer or a refrigerator to a hot oven to the table, where it will retain the cooking heat for a very long time.
As it does not contain any metal, it can be used safely in the microwave. It also resists to the lowest temperatures and can be put in the freezer. Cooking in ceramic remains the best way to preserve the flavours and nuritional qualities in the food, and to develop the aromas. What’s more, the small bumps on the underside of the lid favour the condensation process : the vapour falls back onto the food, which remains full of flavour.
It is designed for everyday use : you can serve directly at the table and cut inside thanks to its extremely resistant glaze. It can also be taken from the freezer and put directly on the gas or in the oven. It also slips easily into the dishwasher.
