The formula X 50 Cr Mo 15 is proudly etched onto every blade. The analysis of the WÜSTHOF steel alloy is as follows: X = Surgical Steel 50 = 0.5% carbon (The carbon content is significant for the sharpness, edge retention and honing of the blade.
