Tojiro whetstones are specifically designed for use with Tojiro knives. They are available in three grades of abrasive grit: Fine, medium and coarse.

A fine or medium grit is sufficient but if the blade is blunt or damaged it may be necessary to start with a rougher grit.

Whetstones need to be soaked for at least five minutes before sharpening and kept wet as this ensures the best results. The whetstone may be used with the Tojiro bridge holder for added convenience.
